I thought I'd be able to just remove the carpet upstairs, clean up the floors and paint them. Nope. There are holes where it looks like vents or ductwork were. The drop ceiling in the main bedroom is there to hide atleast 1 hole up to the attic! There are missing screens and bent screens upstairs so I can't even have windows open. So that is alteast 2 different contractors to fix storms/screens and patch floors.
The summer kitchen will need to be gutted. There is insulation behind the wood paneling, it smells damp and I'm sure full of rodents. The exterior has some rotting/deteriorating wood, the roof is questionable. I thought, oh I'll just slap some paint on the paneling and exterior and be able to use it. Nope.
The entire plumbing structure in the cellar is being redone. I wasn't really expecting that but the pitch of the waste runs are a not right, the hot water heater isn't vented correctly, and the exterior vent is too low. Interesting none of this was in the inspection report.
